YES
Yoga Educational Seminars

The YES Yoga Teacher Training was designed to respond to the growing need for competent and compassionate yoga teachers who can address the needs of the contemporary western student. We are dedicated to enhancing the individual and collective quality of life through yoga. Our program provides students of all cultural and religious backgrounds with an in-depth, comprehensive, and non-dogmatic approach to the study, practice, and teaching of yoga.

Certification

All students receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the program. For those wishing to obtain an 'Introductory 200-hour Teaching Certicificate', additional hours of study are required. These additional hours are completed through a mentorship with an experienced local teacher, a supervised teaching practicum, and elective courses in asana, pranayama and meditation with YES faculty or other qualified instructors. The YES Yoga Teacher Training Program certificate is recognized by Yoga Alliance, a national registry developed to support professional standards for yoga instructors in the United States.

Student Comments

"Joyce is an exceptional yoga instructor and extremely competent, who demonstrates her concern for the development and experience of each student. She brings her expertise as a physical therapist which enables her to effectively address each student's individual needs." -- J.L.

"In the short time I had with Joyce (at Mt. Madonna teacher training) I learned an incredible amount about alignment and mechanics in the postures and about being with a student, where he or she is at! She has been the teacher I have been looking for!" --V.C.

"Joyce has given me such a wonderful new way to look at life. She has not just shown us doors to growth and learning, but she has also given us the keys. She has a wonderful gift of knowledge and even more priceless is her desire to share with others." -- L.G.

"Many people have benefited, greatly, from the insight Joyce has to share. Her charisma and sparkly personality is undoubtedly an inspiring factor in encouraging others to heal and stay healthy." -- J.T.

"Joyce has shown me the way to being a good yoga teacher. She has been so patient with all of my challenges. This course fit all my needs!" -- S.S.

"I attended the IYT Teacher Training last November at Mt. Madonna and had the pleasure of hearing Joyce present. I asked her about pain in my hip, and in a few short minutes she released a major muscle spasm." -- J.R.

"Being in Joyce's yoga teacher training was an overwhelming and wonderful experience, one that I will hold in my heart for my life. Her energy and love left me in a state of openness and hope." -- V.L.

"If I attempted to list all that Joyce did to enable my successful start (as a yoga teacher), I'd never finish this message. However, foremost in my mind is the amazing depth of knowledge she imparts and the confidence she builds with feedback that is always constructive, honest, and perceptive. She has a direct and unselfconscious way of handling the inevitable goofs. She is generous caring and committed to her students. I look forward to working with her in the years to come." -- K.F.
