Connie Habash, MA, LMFT, has been practicing yoga since 1991,
and teaching in the Iyengar and Vinyasa styles since 1993. She
received her teacher training from Mark Horner at Moksha Yoga
Shala in Walnut Creek, with whom she has studied for over 10 years.
Her yoga studies have also been influenced by Rama Jyoti Vernon,
Dona Hollerman, Ramanand Patel, and especially Shandor Remete.
Additionally, she is a certified Relax and Renew Trainer, and
has trained with Judith Lasater in prenatal as well as restorative
yoga. For the last few years, Connie has worked with the Ganesha
Institute of Ayurveda and Vedic Studies, doing Ayurvedic Yoga
consultations for their clients, and she has studied general ayurvedic
applications under Pratichi Mathur. Sanskrit is a special love
of hers; she enjoys chanting mantras, writing, and translating
Sanskrit texts. She began her studies with Vyaas Huston of the
American Sanskrit Institute, and continues to deepen her knowledge
at Sanskrit Academy with the renown Dr. Sarasvati Mohan. Inspired
by her spiritual teacher, Ammachi, her greatest passion is integrating
the philosophy and spirituality of yoga into her classes. In addition
to teaching yoga, Connie is also a Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist and does yoga therapy.
